Independent Project
IGNIS
Tactical wildfire simulation engine optimizing defensive resource triage in real-time.
OVERVIEW
A high-performance, multi-threaded disaster response simulation engine. Ignis models terrain-driven wildfire physics and executes heavy-duty mathematical optimization to calculate maximum-value defensive resource triage in real-time.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- 01Engineered a terrain intelligence engine utilizing Dijkstra's algorithm for dynamic fire propagation, 0/1 Knapsack dynamic programming for economic resource triage, and Quad-Tree spatial partitioning for optimized O(K) rendering.
- 02Designed a decoupled, multi-threaded architecture using PySide6 QThread and asynchronous signals to prevent UI event loop starvation during heavy NP-Complete heuristic calculations.
- 03Overcame severe desktop visualization bottlenecks by implementing a custom double-buffered snapshot system and dirty-cell tracking, achieving a fluid 60 FPS alpha-driven render clock.
- 04Built a military-grade command HUD featuring JetBrains Mono typography, live sparkline telemetry, and procedural visual tweening to represent deterministic physics.
